                AJADI AMRIT MAHOTSAV SERIES held on Great Freedom Fighter Ras Bihari Bose

Speakathon Club under the mentorship of Training and Placement cell of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology Hisar organised 3rd edition of its 'Aazadi Amrit Mahotsav Series' dedicated to 75 years of independence of India. The freedom fighter of the week was founder of INA ”Rash Behari Bosh” whose birth anniversary falls on 25th May. The students from various departments and affiliated colleges participated and paid their tribute. Prof. Avneesh Verma, Registrar of the University was the chief guest of event.  Prof. Sujata Sanghi, Chairperson, Department of Physics was present as guest of honour. Pratap Singh, Director Placement presided over the function.

Prof. Avneesh Verma, Registrar apprised the students about various facets of Ras Bihari Bose who lived in Japan and Germany but lived for India. He told that a nation is not defined by its geographical boundaries only but is defined by its people, its culture and tradition as well. He highlighted that we should always remember our forefathers and this amrit mahostav series is an effective approach for this.

While putting lights on life and sacrifice of Ras Bihari Bose students underlined that Ras Bihari Bos, since childhood, has been involved in number of revolutionary activities like Gadar Movement, Lord Harding Bombing, Alipur Case and many more. He stayed in japan for number of years and gathered support from Japanese for India's Independence. The participants told that he is also known for introducing Indian-style curry in Japan, which made him popular as "Bose of Nakamuraya". He was the founding father of Indian Independence League which he later handed over to Subhash Chandra Bose. He inspired prisoners captured in jails of Japan and Germany to join the Indian Independence League and become the soldiers of the Indian National Army (INA). He selected the flag for the Azad Hind movement and handed over the flag to Subhas Chandra Bose. Prior to his death caused by tuberculosis, the Japanese Government honored him with the Order of the Rising Sun.

At the end, guest of honour Prof. Sujata Sanghi appealed the students to learn from life of Ras Bihari Bose and stay positive and calm in every situation of life. She appreciated the efforts of all participants to come forward to speak on unsung heroes like Ras Bihari Bose.    

Dr. Aditya Vir Singh, Assistant Director told that Monika Sihag and Shikshank were declared as the Best Speakers of event. Dr. Ranjeet Singh, Programme Coordinator and Assistant Professor of Department of Physics presented vote of thanks.  Miss Sanju anchored the programme very gracefully. The volunteers Alok, Unnati, Pranjali, Rakhi, Meghna, Inderjeet, Anjali along with Apurva, the club coordinator, very nicely organized and managed the event.
