Independence Day Special Edition of Azadi Amritmahotsav Series held in GJUST

                 The Speakathon Club of Training & Placement Cell, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar organized Independence Day Special Edition of its Aazadi Amritmahotsav Series in form of online Quiz and online elocution competition to commemorate the 75th Year of India’s Independence. Prof. Baldev Raj Kamboj, Vice-Chancellor of University was the chief guest of the function. Prof. Avnesh Verma, Registrar of the University was the guest of honour of this event.  Partap Singh, Director Placement presided over the function. Dr. Anupama Sangwan from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Sh. Bijender Dahiya, Deputy Director Public Relations were judges of online elocution contest for English and Hindi sections respectively.

          In his welcome speech, Partap Singh, Director Placement told that 208 students have participated in Online Quiz competition held on lives of freedom fighters and 47 students from various colleges and universities from different corners of country participated in online elocution contest and paid their tribute by speaking on lives and sacrifices of great freedom fighters covered in previous thirteen weekly editions of Aazadi Amrit Mahotsav Series. The participants threw light on First Indian Revolutionary Mangal Pande, brave queen of Jhansi Rani Laxmibai, Bipin Chanderpal, Father of Azad Hind Fauj Ras Bihari Bose, Youth icon Neta Ji Subhash Chander Bose, Bhagwati Charan Vohra, Madam Bhikaji Kama, Birsa Munda, Ram Prasad Bismil, Lokmanya Tilak, Swami Vivekananda, Rabindernath Tagore etc. 
          Prof. B. R. Kamboj, Vice-Chancellor congratulated the students from various universities and colleges for participating in this series. He told that 75th year of our independence is celebrated as Azadi Amritmahotsav and this is the right time to remember all such heroes who never bothered about themselves and sacrificed their everything to make mother India free from the claws of the cruel British empire. He said that efforts from all corners of India and even from outside India finally compelled Britishers to leave India. He said that all of us should get inspiration from these real heroes and do our best to make India Vishva Guru.

          Prof. Avnesh Verma, Registrar applauded the efforts of Training & Placement Cell to provide a platform to students for enhancement of their communication skills along with installing a sense of nationalism and responsibility amongst students through this Azad Amrit Mahotsav Series. He said that Values (Sanskar),  the brotherhood (sauhard) and Borders (Sarhad) of any nation reflect its greatness and we are far ahead in these dimensions.

          Dr. Aditya Vir Singh, Assistant Director told that Pooja Beniwal from Government College for Women, Hisar, Monika from GJUST, Vallabha Datta from Enikepadu, Heena from GJUST and Shivangi from Hansraj College, Delhi were the top performers in the quiz competition. First three winners of Hindi Elocution contest were Shishank from GJUST, Vidhi Sachdeva from D.N College, Hisar and Saurabh from Government College, Jind. For the English Elocution Contest, Ektha from Symboisis College of Arts and Commerce (Pune), Aavishi from GJUST and Tulip from Amity Law School, Chattisgarh got first, second and third position respectively. Participation certificates have been sent to all participants.

 

          Dr.Ranjeet Dalal, Programme Coordinator expressed vote of thanks. Shubham Dwivedi, Vinay Sharma & Priya Sharma hosted the event.
