Fifteenth Edition of Aazadi Amritmahotsav Series held by Speakathon Club

The Speakathon Club under the mentorship of Training and Placement Cell, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar organised the 15th episode of ‘Azadi Amritmahotsav Series’ in form of “Online Elocution Competition" to commemorate the 75th Year of India's Independence. Prof. Harbhajan Bansal, Dean Academic Affairs was the chief guest of function. Prof. Devendra Mohan of Department of Physics and Dr. Mani Shrestha of HSB were the judges of the elocution contest. Total 26 students from various colleges and universities participated in this competition. The contestants paid homage and spoke on freedom fighters having their birth or martyrdom anniversary in September month like Shahid Bhagat Singh, Vithal Bhai Patel, Jatinder Nath Das, Abdul Hafiz Mohammad, M. Visveswaraya, Vinoba Bhave, Dr Sarvpalli Radhakrishan, Dadabhai Noroji and Ananth Bandhu.
While addressing the students as Prof. Harbhajan Bansal cited that we should realize the importance of freedom and acknowledge the contribution of all freedom fighters who laid their lives for freedom of country from British claws. He further stated that Azadi Amritmahotsav Series is a great initiative taken by the Training and Placement Cell to emphasize what struggles it took to gain independence. He also asserted that communication is integral to modern corporate life and AAS provides an excellent platform for enhancing communication skills to all the contestants.
Dr. Mani Shreshtha mentioned that while participating in the Elocution contest, students should take care of factors like body language, confidence, eye contact, content and effective delivery. Dr. Devender Mohan also appealed to the students to get inspiration from the life of these freedom fighters while quoting some lines for freedom fighters. Dr. Ranjeet Dalal, Club Mentor presented the vote of thanks.
In his Welcome address, Pratap Singh Malik, Director Placement congratulated the students for participating in this series. He further appealed to all the students to read about the given personality which will help them in getting untouched incidents and facts of freedom fighters.
Aditya Vir Singh, Assistant Director of Training and Placement Cell informed that Smiriti, Laxmi and Vidhi got first, second and third positions respectively in Junior Category. Shikshank, Riya and Anshul-Pallavi got first, second and third positions respectively in Senior Category.
Activity Coordinators Pratibha and Raghav along with Club Coordinators Apoorva & Shubham and other team members coordinated the event effectively. Sanju & Monika Sihag anchored the event.
