UDBHAVANA Talk Show on "Effective Resume Building" held by GJUST

          The Training and Placement Cell of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar organized Udbhavana Talk Show-cum-Webinar, on the topic "Effective Resume Building". 185 students from various departments attended this webinar.  Capt Richik Sinha Roy, Indian Territorial Army Officer and Co-founder of Smart Resume Generator Platform Ureify was the key note speaker of the webinar. Director Placement Partap Singh Malik presided over the function.

          Key note speaker Capt. Richik Sinha shared that Ureify is an intelligent web app with multiple resume samples and summary statements that builds perfect job-winning resumes according to the job requirements. He told that it has got approval from 40 HRs of fortune 500 companies. Students can prepare their highly customized resumes in 10 minutes using this platform. He further explained that resume is a reflection of candidate, so before building a resume, one should work on his/her employability skills and learn how to beat ATS (application tracking system) software used by 98 per cent Companies to reject 90 per cent of all resumes.  He also advised the students to put their accomplishments, internships, industrial training and projects in an articulated and structured manner in their resumes. He shared that companies don't look for perfect resume, but expect authentic and unique resumes. He also suggested the students to take benefits of numerous programmes and online courses such as NPTEL, Udemy, Coursera, edX, Udacity, LinkedIn Learning, General Assembly and Skillshare. He also motivated students to get registered on various Competitive Programming Competition platforms such as HackerRank, International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), CodeChef, Geeks Coding Challenge (GCC), LeetCode, Codeforces & Github.

          In his welcome speech, Director (Placement) told that companies have only few seconds to be spent on numerous resumes coming to them for various job opportunities. Therefore, Smart and Precise resumes are need and trend of the hour and students should work on this front.
