Industry Interaction Program on "Drug and their Regulators" for Pharmaceutical Sciences Students

          Industry Interaction Program (IIP) Club of Training & Placement Cell of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar (GJUST) in collaboration with Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, GJUS&T, Hisar organised an Industrial Interaction Programme on the topic "Drug and their Regulators". Dr. Sandeep Kumar Kailey, Drug Controller Officer of Kota, Rajasthan was the keynote speaker of the programme. Having done M.Pharm and Ph.D. from NIPER, Mohali in the year 2008 and 2013 respectively, he qualified various national level examinations like GATE, GPAT and also CSIR NET JRF in Life Sciences (2009). 

          Keynote Speaker Dr. Sandeep Kumar Kailey told the students that it is very much needed to respect your profession for getting success in that profession. Through the presentation, he made the students aware about the definition of drug and differences between the Spurious, Adulterated and Misbranded drugs. He also explained the functioning of "Drug Regulating Authorities" on Central as well as at state level.  Dr Sandeep then elucidated the working procedure of a Drug Inspector and Government Analyst and shared the knowledge of different Form Numbers i.e 13, 17 & 18 and others required processes for the smooth conduction of their procedures. He also shared with students various regulatory activities performed by their Kota Drug Department. He finally appealed to students to always keep their Education in top priority and never feel hesitant to spend money on Books. This presentation was followed by Question and Answer Session where students asked a number of questions from the speaker.

          Pratap Singh Malik, Director, Training and Placement Cell, Prof. Neeru Vasudeva, Dean of Medical Sciences and Prof. Sumitra Singh, Chairperson of Pharmaceutical Sciences Department greeted the Keynote Speaker and appealed to all students to take maximum advantage of such types of industry interaction programmes for enhancing their exposure. Around 75 students of B.Pharma and M.Pharma courses participated in this online interaction session. Dr. Rekha Rao, Training & Placement Coordinator of Pharmaceutical Sciences Department coordinated the entire programme efficiently. Nikita from M.Pharm. anchored the event.
