SSB CLUB (Moral Values in Terms of Officer Like Qualities (OLQ) Sought in SSB
The SSB(Service Selection Board) Club in the mentorship of the Training and Placement Cell of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar organized a webinar on the topic "Moral Values and Officer Like Qualities (OLQ) sought in SSB". SSB Trainer in Captain Batra Brigade, professional psychologist & advanced personality development trainer Mr. Alok Pratap Singh was the keynote speaker. Prof. Avnesh Verma, Registrar, GJUS&T was the chief guest of the event. Sh. Partap Singh Malik, Director(Placement), GJUS&T (Hisar) presided over the function. 65 SSB aspirant students from various departments attended this webinar.
In his chief guest address, Prof Avnesh Verma asserted that being an officer in defence forces is a matter of great pride and one should strive to work hard and groom his or her personality for becoming the suitable candidate for armed forces. He appreciated the efforts of the SSB club for making the students aware about the SSB process and also to train them for that. Director (Placement) Pratap Singh told that SSB club has been constituted by T&P Cell for providing all SSB aspirant students a platform for getting orientation about all aspects of SSB process from professionals and experts and guidance about inculcating various qualities which are looked for in the SSB interview process.
Keynote speaker Mr. Alok Pratap Singh highlighted the importance of creating moral values in our personality. He told that inherent moral values of an SSB aspirant make it easier for him or her to develop various OLQs sought in SSB. Therefore one should focus more on developing basic moral values so that he/she may be Moral Officer in armed forces instead of Only Armed Forces Officer. He further highlighted that Qualities such as patience, forbearance, adaptability, contentment and time management help us in having a work-life balance in all parts of our life. He told that in SSB process, chances for those candidates are always high for recommendation which are carrying the qualities with them Mansa, Vacha & Karmna in integrated manner. By giving examples of great personalities like Issac Tigret, Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam , Ratan Tata, father of PIL Mr. P. N. Bhagwati, Mr. Alok Pratap Singh underlined the importance of simplicity and dedication for the society and nation, which are farmost qualities required for one to be Defense Officer. He suggested the students to work on simple projects related to social service for inculcating the sensitivity for social causes in them. His talk was followed by Question Answer Session.
Tushar Narwal, OPC, T&P Cell, GJUS&T(Hisar) presented the vote of thanks. Club Coordinator SamarJeet Singh anchored the event. Club Co-Coordinators Vaishali & Sanju along with other volunteers worked hard for the successful organization of the event.
