One Week FDP on "Skill Development for Employability & Entrepreneurship" started by T&P Cell


 Training and Placement Cell of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar started a One Week Online Faculty Development Program in association with AICTE on the theme "Skill Development for Employability and Entrepreneurship". 40 Faculty members and 160 students are enrolled in the FDP program. Vice Chancellor Prof. B. R. Kamboj was chief guest of the Inauguration Ceremony. Registrar Prof. Avnesh Verma & Vice Chancellor of Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, Palwal Sh. Raj Nehru was the guest of honour for the event.  AICTE Director Col Venkat attended the virtual function as Special guest. Founder & Director of Pro Wisdom Growth Mr. Puneet Raman was the keynote speaker of the inauguration session. Director T&P Cell Partap Singh presided over the function and greeted all guests and briefed about University and T&P Cell. Program Coordinator Dr. Aditya Vir Singh & FDP Coordinator Prof. Sandeep Arya briefed about the FDP program.


While addressing to students, Guest of Honour Prof. Avnesh Verma underlined the importance of Entrepreneurship culture in today's world. He appealed to students to come forward with innovative thoughts and be the job givers instead of job seekers.  Guest of Honour & Vice Chancellor of SVSU Sh. Raj Nehru underlined that students should be motivated to have future dreams instead of only remembering the glorious past, be fearless to take risks in life and think unconventionally and have self-esteem. He further underlined that this FDP would lead to accomplishment of these goals. He also appealed to faculty members to equip themselves with rapidly changing learning styles due to technological disruptions for preparing employable students. AICTE Director Col B. Venkat shared that AICTE is always committed towards facilitating various programs focussed on employability and entrepreneurship in accordance with National Education Policy. Chief Guest of Inaugural function Vice Chancellor Prof B. R. Kamboj congratulated all the participants to be part of this FDP and appealed to all for coming up with confidence to become an entrepreneur.

Keynote Speaker of session Mr. Puneet Raman talked about the fundamentals of Entrepreneurship. He further said that the first step towards entrepreneurship is to be self-employed for becoming self-dependent. He appealed to the participants to become creators for generating revenues instead of only being consumers and spending money. Mr. Puneet said that like an iceberg, people only see the success of an entrepreneur, but hard work, sacrifices, failures, perseverance constitute the major portion of this process of entrepreneurship. He also shared Nine components to start a new business such as Customers, Channels, Customer Relationship, Revenue, Key Partners, Key resources, Costs and Value Propositions.

In the Second Session of the First Day, Dr. Gauri Prabhu, Professor and Head Startup Cell AISSMS Institute of Management Pune spoke on the topic "Idea Conceptualization & Entrepreneurial Mindset". Dr Gauri Prabhu underlined the importance of  conducting market surveys before launching any startup in the market . She highlighted that Strategic Fit, Business Plan, Team Building, Leadership and Resource Mangement are key factors for changing ideas into reality. She also shared various case studies like "Dee's Wholefoods" working on an organic burger, "Wavebreak Media" working on future need for TV companies &  "Rosso Solini Soles" working on designer shoes with coloured soles.

Third Session of the day on "Success Stories of Famous Startups" was taken by Executive Coach and Entrepreneur Mr. Rupender Khaira.He talked about the success stories of famous startups like AirBnB, Instagram, Angry Birds, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Whatsapp, Uber, Twitter & Facebook. He also shared the stories of startups that made a huge profit during the pandemic time such as Zoom, Google Meet, Unacademy, Grofers & Coursera. He also advised students to work on Communication SKills, Blockchain, Analytics Skills , Problem Solving Skills and Influencing SKills for successfully run a startup:
