Fourth Day of One Week FDP on "Skill Development for Employability & Entrepreneurship" by T&P Cell.
On Fourth Day of One week FDP Program being organized by Training and Placement Cell of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology on theme "Skill Development for Employability and Entrepreneurship", expert speakers were Ms. Manjula Sularia, CEO of The Transformers Value Creators, Dr. Dniesh Nagpal Director Career Compass
& Sagar Amlani , CEO & Founder Zapro Consultants interacted with FDP participants.
Speaking on the topic "Communication and Presentation Skills" in the First Session, Ms. Manjula discussed about importance of Verbal, Paraverbal & Non-Verbal Communication. She added that One has to take care of body language, empathy & nature while communicating with others. She also underlined the importance of One to One position as well as taking care of the personal space of others.
Speaking on the topic "Effective Resume Building and Etiquettes" in Second Session, Dr. Dinesh Nagpal highlighted that students should not use Copy-Paste technique while preparing Resume. He underlined that the resume is a personal advertisement of the candidate. He suggested students add real things in the resume so that the candidate may remain truthful during the interview. Alongwith, he told everyone to change things everytime the position is being changed. Being real while creating a resume, while giving any interview can help them attain the desired job .He also suggested to take care of spelling and grammar while making a resume.
Speaking on the topic "LinkedIn" in Third Session, Mr. Sagar Amlani told that 93% of recruiters use Linked for Finding & recruiting the right candidates. LinkedIn is the largest professionals networking website having 660 million members in over 200 countries. He said that mostly all the HRs are present on LinkedIn. So better visibility of students on LinkedIn helps in connecting with HRs, which helps in providing more job opportunities to them.
He clarified that A good LinkedIn Profile should have Professional Profile Photo (With Smile & covering 60% of screen space and proper eye contacts), Precise and Effective Headline in 120 characters, Personalized Banner, Effective Summary explaining your credentials, Recommendations from teachers or other students and QR Code. He told that ECG (Engagement, Consistency and Groups) is the main key of efficient & effective use of LinkedIn. He appealed to the students that instead of wasting time on whatsapp etc, students should post at least once in week. He clarified that LinkedIn URL can be personalized to make it easier for others.He told that Linkedin allows maximum 30000 connections, but using LinkedIn Groups, this reach may be increased.
Director Placements Pratap Singh said that this FDP Program has been initiated for making the students employable. The Vote of thanks was presented by Program Coordinator Dr Aditya Vir Singh.
