Industry Interaction Program (IIP) a webinar on topic (Fundamentals of ERP )

 Industry Interaction Program held by Training and Placement Cell of Guru Jambheshwar University.

Training and Placement Cell of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar organized a webinar cum Industry Interaction Program on the topic - "Fundamentals of ERP". In  his welcome address , Sh. Pratap Singh Malik, Director of Training and Placement Cell stated that ERP is an very important tool in the business world and every student needs to be aware of it. He further highlighted that these kinds of formal interaction programs add value to the knowledge of students  and T&P cell tries to organize as much IIPs as possible to help the students grow and learn.

Keynote Speaker, Mr. Mandeep Yadav, Navision Application Engineer at TQC Precision Engineering Pte Ltd, Singapore guided the students about the basics of ERP. He stated that ERP stands for Enterprise Resource Planning. It's a business process management software that manages and integrates a company's financials and departments like reporting, manufacturing  and other human resource activities. He also demonstrated how an ERP works using Microsoft Dynamic Nav software and highlighted that the basic overview of every version is the same and the languages used in such version for programming are AL and C/AL. All the data that is entered in the software is stored using specific databases like MySQL and reporting is done using Jet Reports and Power BI. He demonstrated every aspect of the software in depth by practically performing operations that are being carried out by professionals in companies like Sales,Order Processing,Pricing,Invoicing and Assembly etc.  He further mentioned that these ERP softwares are provided as packages to companies and companies customize these packages according to their needs. It is the job of IT professionals like him to customize these packages. In the end, he added that for mid-section companies, softwares like Microsoft Dynamic 365 and nav are used and multi-national companies use SAP ERPs.
