SSB CLUB (SSB preparation strategies)

 Webinar conducted by SSB club in collaboration with NCC unit of GJUS&T on National Youth Day

The SSB club of GJUS&T in the mentorship of training and placement cell conducted a webinar in collaboration with NCC unit of University on "SSB preparation strategies". Major General Dr Ranjit Singh AVSM, VSM currently president of Neha foundation and head of General Ranjit SSB academy was the keynote speaker. Director(Placement) Partap Singh Malik presided over the function. Around 120 SSB Club members and NCC cadets participated in this online event. Assistant Director Dr. Aditya Vir Singh, University NCC Officer Dr. Anurag Sangwan also graced the occasion.

In his welcome address, Director(Placement) Pratap Singh Malik told that the SSB club has been established in the university to prepare the students for the Service Selection Board (SSB) recruitment process for Armed Forces. He further said that this was the tenth event of the SSB club in the current academic year. Underlining the importance of National Youth Day, He also appealed to students to take inspiration from the life of Swami Vivekananda and keep on moving towards the goal until that goal is achieved.

Keynote speaker Major General  Dr Ranjit Singh shared his SSB experience and guided the students about various dimensions of the SSB process. He told students to idealize Swami Vivekananda and also mentioned Swami ji's contribution. He suggested students engage themselves in some outdoor activities and perform yoga to remain physically and mentally fit. He also advised the students to make action-oriented sentences in TAT, WAT etc. He also advised students to  create positive sentences in the Word Association test (WAT).  He also explained all Officer Like Qualities sought in Armed Forces Officers with examples. He suggested students to identify the central person or concept from the picture shown and weave the positive story around that in the Picture Perception and Description Test. He also highlighted that students should respond to the questions truthfully in a personal interview.

While presenting Vote of thanks, NCC Incharge of University Dr Anurag Sangwan mentioned that such events are very useful for students for their preparation of SSB. The anchoring was done by Rakhi. Club coordinator Samarjeet Singh and his team members Arvind, Lalita Rakhi, Jyoti, coordinated the event successfully.
