3-Days Soft Skill Development Training Programme for Pre-Final Year students in partnership with Rubicon Skill Development Pvt Ltd

Second Edition of Rubicon Soft Skill programme conducted for Pre-Final Year students

            Training and Placement Cell of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar, under its UDBHAVANA module organised a three-days Campus Recruitment Training (CRT)-cum-Soft Skills Development Workshop in collaboration with Rubicon Skill Development Private Limited for 2023 pass out students. Total 426 Pre-final year students of courses B.Tech. CSE, IT, ECE, EE, ME, Printing, Packaging & Civil Engineering, MBA, M.Com. attended this training programme conducted in six batches in premises of Haryana School of Business. The programme ended with a valedictory function organized in Ch. Ranbir Singh auditorium. 

            Partap Singh Malik, Director Placement expressed thanks to Pooja Sonje and all trainers from Rubicon Skill Development Private Limited along with all chairpersons and department Placement Coordinator teachers of the departments for motivating the students to participate in this training programme. He expressed special thanks to Prof. Karam Pal Narwal, Director HSB and Prof. Dalbir Singh for allowing this training programme to be conducted in HSB premises. He informed that till today 900 Pre-Final Year students have got this soft skill training, so that they may face the Placement Interviews in next year.

            While addressing the students in valedictory function, Dr. Aditya Vir Singh, Assistant Director Placement shared that the main topics which were covered in this training by trainers were Organizational Structure, Public Speaking, Presentation Skills, E-mail Etiquette, Grooming, Group Discussion, Personal Interview, Assessment based on Personal Interview and Group Discussion. He briefed that Mr. Shikhar Prajapati, Mr. Preetam Nayak, Miss Nisha Singh, Mr. Praveen Kumar Vyas, Mr. Maheep Singh and Miss Sara Soloman were the expert and professional trainers from multiple corners of the country from Rubicon Skill Development Private Limited, who imparted the soft skill training through intensive interaction, fun games, involvement activities etc. He said that Training & Placement Cell has made this CRT programme mandatory to appear in the placement drives of next year for students of 2023 passout batch. 

            All the trainers also shared their experiences and appealed to students to keep on working on skills acquired in this workshop. They also underlined the importance of Intent, Content and Confidence for effective communication skills. They also suggested students work on dimensions like active listening, active speaking, non-verbal communication and learning how to stay focused. They further said that this training would empower them with the required skills such as Group Discussion skills, Personal Interview Skills, Presentation Skills, clarity about effective resume etc.

            While sharing their experiences, students shared that they were quite hesitant in speaking in front of other students in the beginning, but after completion of training, their confidence as well as power of communication has increased many folds.

            The entire programme was managed by Overall Programme Coordinator Lalita Kanwar from B.Tech. EE and Co-Coordinator Divya Singal from MBA along with batch-wise coordinators Bhavika, Nidhi, Ved, Deepanshu, Atul and Shilpi. Lalita Kanwar anchored the valedictory function, in which students shared their learning experiences of this training programme.
