Speakathon Club present Story Telling Competition: Real Life Stories of Selfless Social Service
Story telling competition organized by Speakathon Club of GJUST

The Speakathon club under the mentorship of Training and Placement Cell, Guru Jambheshwar University of science and technology, Hisar organized the first story telling competition in the Series on the theme Real Life Stories of Selfless Social Service. Prof. B.K. Punia, Former Vice-Chancellor of MDU, Rohtak and Senior Professor of HSB was the Chief guest of the event. Dr. Ranjeet Dalal, Assistant Professor of Physics Department and Dr. Anita Khatak, Assistant Professor of Food Tech department graced the event as judges. Pratap Singh Malik, Director and Dr. Aditya Vir Singh, Assistant Director of Training and Placement Cell were also present in the event.
The chief guest of the event Prof. B.K. Punia addressed the gathering. He was very impressed with this initiative. He mentioned how stories have been the most powerful tool to share knowledge and since as a kid we keep listening to stories from our grandparents and learn from them. He also mentioned how this particular theme is so relevant in this current time as we should celebrate the selfless heroes who worked day and night just for the welfare of the society and gave his best wishes to all the participants.
Dr. Ranjeet Dalal shared his views of the event and congratulated all the participants for their brilliant performances. He also highlighted the importance of stories in our lives and how much they affect us.
Dr. Anita addressed the gathering and announced the results. It was tough for them to choose as all did very well but still there could be only three winners. So Lalit Kumar from ECE got 1st position, Yogita Yadav from chemistry got 2nd prize while Bhawna from MBA got 3rd prize.
Pratap Singh Malik, Director in his welcome speech told that the event got a huge support from students. Over 40 students from various courses narrated their enthusiastic and inspiring stories and the audience also kept them motivated. He encouraged all the participants. He also shared his vision for this programme and how it will help students in their communication skills as well as boost their confidence.
Partap Singh Malik told that the competition was just so great to listen to various stories narrated by all the participants. They told stories of selfless services from Anand kumar, founder of super 30 to Ratan Tata to mother Teresa and their personal stories as well, how they have worked on ground level or have seen such efforts by various people in the field of environment conservation to medical field. All of them gave brilliant performances and it was an amazing experience, also the Audience kept them motivated with their enthusiasm.
Dr. Aditya Vir Singh presented the vote of thanks. He thanked all the participants for their participation as well as the audience for their support. He specially thanked the judges for taking out time and judging the stories even though it was so tough.
In the end, the national anthem was played and the event ended with group pictures of all the participants. Barkha and Deepak were the anchors for the event. The whole event was managed by club coordinator Parkash Jha along with his team including Barkha, Deepak, Sujal, Laxmi, Lalit and Deepanshu, who managed the event effectively.
