Speakathon Club's workshop on topic "AAZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV SERIES Part - 25
25th Edition of Aazadi Amritmahotsav Series held by Speakathon Club of GJUS&T.
The Speakathon Club under the mentorship of Training and Placement Cell, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar organized the 25th episode of ‘Azadi Amritmahotsav Series’ in form of the “Online Elocution Competition" to commemorate the 75th Year of India's independence. This competition is based on the sacrifices of Indian freedom fighters who fought for India while living outside the country.
Prof. Deepa Mangla, Dean of Student Welfare was the Chief Guest of the online elocution contest and Dr.Virender Khatkar, Associate Professor, English Department, Kurukshetra University, and Dr.Suraj Arya, Assistant Professor, CSE Dept, CUH Mahendergarh were the judges of online elocution contest.
The students spoke about Subhash Chandra Bose who was born in Cuttak, Orissa on 23 January 1897. His father, Janaki Nath Bose, was a famous lawyer and his mother Prabhavati Devi was a pious and a religious lady. She was educated in cuttak, Calcutta and university of Cambridge, England. On his return to India, he came under the influence of Mahatma Gandhi and joined the Indian National Congress. He was elected as President of All India National Congress two times.
The students also spoke on Vinayak Damodar Savarkar who was an Indian Politician, Activist and writer of India. He was born on 28 May, 1883 in Bhaghur. He was a leading figure in the Hindu Mahasabha. He is one of the most fascinating men in Indian history. A man who in the first part of his life wanted Hindu-Muslim unity yet later became the father of Hindutva.
Some students spoke about Mahendra Pratap, also known as Aryan Peshwa ,an Indian Freedom Fighter, Journalist, Writer, Revolutionary, President in the Provisional Government Of India, was born on 1 December, 1886. He was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1932. Participants spoke about other freedom fighters also.
In his welcome address, Dr. Pratap Singh Malik, Director of Training and Placement cell warmly welcomed the Chief Guest, Judges & all the participants of 25th Elocution Contest of AAS. He stated that this Aazadi Amrit Mahotsav Series was started on 12 May,2021 and will continue till 15 August,2022. This series is started for providing a platform to the students for enhancing their communication skills and to boost their confidence level. He said students came to know about unsung heroes who laid down their life for India's freedom and this series also provides a bench to students to overcome their hesitation to speak in a crowd.
Chief Guest Prof. Deepa Mangla Appreciated this ongoing program of Azaadi Ka Amritmahotsav series. It has almost completed its 1year and 25 episodes. She motivated students that they should keep working for the welfare of every person. She congratulated everyone for doing a beautiful task and appreciated it up.
Judge Dr. Virender Khatkar motivated students that nothing is more important than the power of words. He appreciated all the participants for giving wonderful speeches. He said that everyone should remember the freedom fighters who sacrifice to win the land of India.
Judge Dr. Suraj Arya said that it is a great opportunity for all to pay gratitude to unsung freedom fighters. Due to the nectar of freedom the youth of India remember the struggle of freedom fighters. This type of platforms gives chance to all to remember the traditional culture of our country.
Dr. Ranjeet, the Activity Teacher Coordinator, presented a vote of thanks. He said it is a great pleasure to organise such an event. He congratulated all the participants for their wonderful speeches. He said that this event inculcates the sense of patriotism in today's youth. He presented his sincere thanks to the judges for sparing their precious time to be part of this event.
Dr. Aditya Veer Singh, Assistant Director of Training and Placement cell, informed that Shalu Sharma got first, Mehak got 2nd and Lalit Kumar got the third position in this competition.
Activity Coordinator Divya and Sachin along with Club Coordinator Apoorva and Shubham and other team members coordinated the event.
