Industrial Interaction Program: Career opportunities in Engineering

            Industry Interaction Club of Training and Placement Cell, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar organized a webinar on Career Opportunities in Electrical Engineering. During this event more than 50 students from the Electrical Department attended this webinar.  Prof. Baldev Raj Kamboj, Vice-Chancellor of the University in his message said that there are better employment opportunities in Electrical Engineering. The present era is the era of electronics revolution. New discoveries are coming before us every moment. Students should take this as an opportunity. He said that if we have to prove ourselves or sustain ourselves in competitive situations, then innovations happening in electronics have to be not only understood but also adopted. At the same time, he said that while these competitive situations have played through possibilities, they have also given rise to new challenges.

            Mr. Ankush Yadav, Mechanical Engineer, B. Tech. & M.Tech., having 8.5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry was the keynote speaker of the programme.  He started his presentation by asking the students whether they take engineering by chance or by choice? He taught the students separately about the chances and choices. He told the students about how to make themselves different from others when they learn new things. As a core subject students should first learn about the basics of Engineering. He also talked about how to connect with people after engineering and he said that the more the connection the more will be the knowledge. He told students about the major causes of failures.

            He also talked about the written techniques for making a good resume. As an electrical engineering student, he also said that the specification of MATLAB & SIMULINK runs for both  Electrical as well as electronic purposes. The session ended with the question-answer round in which students asked their queries. 

            Sh. Pratap Singh Malik, Director Placement said the main motive behind these kinds of Industry Interaction programmes is to give an insight view of the organization like what kind of skills the company is looking for, what are new technologies on which people are working on these days, what are the skills you need to work on before getting into an organization. He also said that these kinds of programmes reduce the gap between academia and industry.

            Dr. Charanjeet Madan, Assistant Professor of the Electrical Engineering Department gave the welcome address. He welcomed the keynote speaker Mr. Ankush Yadav, who is a well-known certified international internal Auditor for Quality Management Systems.

            Dr. Sumit Saroha, Training Placement Coordinator and Assistant Professor of the Electrical Engineering department gave a vote of thanks. The anchoring for the event was done by Shalini Sharma student of Electrical Engineering. The core team members of the Industry Interaction Club Monika Sihag, Overall Club coordinator, Ved Parkash, Club Joint Coordinator and Sahil Verma organized and managed the webinar perfectly.
