 Webinar on "Career Opportunities in Pharmacovigilance"  for Pharmacy Students by Industry Interaction Club

The Industry Interaction Club of Training and Placement Cell, GJUS&T in collaboration with Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences conducted a Webinar on topic "Career Opportunities in Pharmacovigilance"  for the students of Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences on 24th September 2022 to celebrate the National Pharmacovigilance Week . Total 87 students were present during the webinar. Dr. Shivam Malhotra, MD (Pharmacology) having 7 years of clinical experience and currently serving as Senior Drug Safety Physician at APCER Life Sciences, New Delhi & Mr. Deepen Sharma Deputy Manager at APCER Life Sciences were the keynote speakers. Director, Training and Placement Cell Sh. Pratap Singh Malik  presided over the function and gave the Welcome Speech. Training & Placement Coordinator of Pharmacy Department Dr. Rekha Rao gave brief introduction about IIP Club and Pharmacovigilance.

Dr. Shivam Malhotra enhanced the knowledge of students about the Risk and Benefit Balance of Medications, Need of Pharmacovigilance, Phases of Clinical Trials and Limitations of Clinical Trials. Mr. Deepen Sharma made the students aware about the skills needed in pharmacovigilance like self management, people skills and business skills. He also told the difference between Adverse Drug Reactions and Adverse Events, labeled and unlabeled events, QPPV and how IT is related to Pharmacovigilance. After the presentation, students asked their queries.

Team of Coordinators Monika Sihag,  Divy Mohan Arora, Rohit Kumar Yadav coordinated the Webinar effectively in guidance of Dr. Aditya Vir Singh, Dr. Sunil Kumar and Dr. Rekha Rao of Pharmacy Department.
