Talk- Cum Workshop in collaboration with BARC OCES organized by UDBHAVANA Club

Orientation programme organized at GJUST

          Udbhavana Club under Training and Placement Cell, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar organized an orientation programme by Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) about its popular OCES (Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates) programme in Ch. Ranbir Singh Auditorium of the University. Prof. Baldev Raj Kamboj, Vice-Chancellor of the University thanked BARC for organizing this awareness programme in NAAC A plus accredited GJUS&T University and also congratulated Udbhavana Club for organizing this awareness programme.

          Prof. Avnesh Verma, Registrar was the chief guest of the programme. Dr. R.S. Barwal working as Chief Construction Engineer in NPCIL, Gorakhpur was the guest of honour. Dr. Pramod Shrama & Dr. Satyapriya R Sreejith, Senior Scientific officers from the Chemistry Division of BARC were the keynote speakers of the event. More than 200 students participated in this programme.

          While addressing students, Prof Avnesh Verma, Chief Guest said that research is the key to the development of any Economy and a career in BARC will play a very instrumental role in this direction. He underlined the vision of BARC Founder Homi Jahangir Bhabha and role of BARC in India's development. He appealed to all eligible students to apply for OCES-2023 and come with flying colors.

          Dr Pramod Sharma, Keynote Speaker, through power point presentation, apprised the audience about the various power plants of DAE and overall functioning and projects of BARC in distinguished fields of Biology, geology, nuclear power, quantum physics etc. He said that it is always proud to directly contribute to nation building by working in a reputed organization like BARC.  He explained the whole system of OCES and DGFS exam. process. 

          Dr. Satyapriya R Sreejith, Keynote speaker told the students about the eligibility criteria, portal for registration, syllabus, exam pattern, interview process and preparation mechanism, training after selection, salary package and additional benefits provided to scientific officers. She clarief that eligible & interested students  can register on website www.barcocesexam.in, which will be followed by OCES online exams on 1st & 2nd April 2023 followed by interview in May-June 2023 and declaration of results by July 2023. She further mentioned that One Year Orientation courses for selected students will take place at any of the BARC training schools, after which qualified students will be absorbed as scientific officers.

          While sharing his experience, Dr R S Barwal, guest of honour motivated the students to work hard for getting admitted in a reputed organization like BARC. Dr. Ravita, Scientific Officer from NPCIL & GJUST Alumni also shared her journey of OCES exam. to BARC School Training.

          Partap Singh, Director Placement greeted all the dignitaries and audience. He appealed to all students to take full advantage of this orientation programme. 

          Dr Aditya Vir Singh, Assistant Director of Training and Placement Cell presented vote of thanks. The event began with University Kulgeet and ended with the national anthem. The event was anchored by Mokshita Jain from MBA Business Analytics. Programme was Coordinated by a team consisting of Mokshita, Abhishek, Swati, Rahul, Kashish and led by Programme Coordinator Nikita Ranga, Club Coordinator Arzoo Dhakha & Club Joint Coordinator Parul.
