Meeting of Department Placement Coordinators held for strengthening Placement activities

The Training & Placement Cell of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, organized a meeting of all department-level placement coordinators to discuss key aspects of enhancing both employability and employment opportunities for students. The meeting was chaired by Registrar Prof. Vinod Chokkar and Prof. Sandeep Rana, Technical Advisor to the Vice Chancellor. While motivating the placement coordinator teachers, Prof. Narsi Ram Bishnoi emphasized that the university has become a preferred destination for industries across all domains due to its wide offering of job-oriented courses, ensuring bright career prospects for students. He appealed to all coordinators to work together for the collective growth of the university.

At the beginning of the meeting, Assistant Director Dr. Aditya Vir Singh gave an overview of the previous year's achievements, noting that a wide range of initiatives—including Soft Skill Training Programs, Aptitude Training Programs, Industry Interaction Programs, Mock Interviews, Weekly Aptitude Tests, Fortnightly Group Discussions, Industrial Visits, and Technical Trainings—had been organized by the centralized Training & Placement Cell in collaboration with various departments to improve student employability.

Director (Placement) Dr. Partap Singh shared that the university's placement performance has been improving each year, with over 450 students securing placements last year in more than 100 companies. He also shared that 212 students from B.Tech and MBA programs successfully availed themselves of last-semester internship opportunities, which is a special initiative of the university.

Prof. Sandeep Rana, while addressing the placement coordinators, emphasized the importance of understanding students' mindsets and providing them with integrated career support for a minimum of two years after passing out from the university. He also appealed to all coordinators to work towards greater academia-industry collaboration.

Registrar Prof. Vinod Chokkar highlighted the importance of securing campus placements and expressed confidence in the students' abilities, noting that their talent is a key reason why companies frequently visit the university for recruitment. He also underlined the need to organize more industry talks, skill enhancement workshops, and mentoring programs to support student career growth and to increase the placement index across all departments. He further added that the university is providing state-of-the-art personality development opportunities through various initiatives led by the Training & Placement Ecosystem, which has significantly boosted student placements despite the competitive market landscape.

The meeting concluded with a detailed discussion and suggestions from coordinators. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks by the Director(Placement).
