Fortnightly Group Discussion on Topic " Cyber Frauds: How to Remain Vigilant?" organized by Udbhavana Club


 The Udbhavana Club of the Training and Placement Cell of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology successfully organized the third episode of its GD Series on October 24, 2024. The topic of Group Discussion was “CYBER FRAUDS: HOW TO REMAIN VIGILANT?”. This group discussion witnessed enthusiastic participation from 14 teams, comprising approximately 145 students from various university departments. Participants showcased their communication and analytical skills through engaging and thought-provoking discussions. Vice Chancellor Prof. Narsiram Bishnoi congratulated all the participants and emphasized the importance of such programs by stating, “Initiatives like the GD Series are essential for equipping our students with vital communication and analytical skills. These programs prepare them for real-world challenges and help them grow into confident, competent professionals.” Registrar Prof. Vinod Chokkar highlighted that events like these foster collaboration and critical thinking among students from diverse backgrounds, nurturing an environment of holistic learning and personal development.”


During the event, several critical points were highlighted to address the topic of cyber frauds and staying vigilant. Students emphasized the importance of creating strong, complex passwords to enhance security and the necessity of enabling two-factor authentication for added protection. Regular software updates were recommended to keep systems secure from vulnerabilities, while participants also stressed the need to be cautious with emails, particularly avoiding suspicious links or attachments. Monitoring financial statements for unauthorized transactions and staying educated about the latest scams and fraud tactics were seen as vital practices. Additionally, students pointed out the importance of using secure connections and avoiding public Wi-Fi for sensitive transactions, and trusting one's instincts to investigate if something feels suspicious.

Director(Placement) Dr. Partap SIngh shared that GD series is a regular fortnightly program of T&P Cell to enhance the communication skills of students. Out of 14 participating teams, five teams were shortlisted , out of which Rashi and her team from B.Tech CSE Batch 2 (1st Year) secured the 1st position, Rohit and his team from AI & DS earned the 2nd position, and Pratyaksh and his team from CSE (2nd Year) took the 3rd position. He further shared that this series was designed to develop the participants' group discussion skills and prepare them for the competitive world of placements. The broad participation from various departments highlighted the inclusive nature of the event, enabling students from different academic backgrounds to engage in professional discussions. The winners distinguished themselves with exceptional articulation, knowledge, and leadership.

Assistant Director Dr. Aditya Vir Singh shared that this entire program was coordinated by Program Coordinator Yashika and Co-Program Coordinator Jyoti & Club Coordinator Deepanshu very successfully.
